Andrew Echt is the Director of Applebaum Family Philanthropy and the Chief Operating Officer of Applebaum Ventures, LLC., the holding company that oversees the Applebaum financial ventures including real estate, private and philanthropic investments.
Mr. Echt became the first Director of Applebaum Family Philanthropy in 2014, and is responsible for advancing and stewarding the family philanthropic vision and community legacy. In the position of Chief Operating Officer, Echt leads the stewardship and strategic operating direction for Applebaum Ventures, with a primary focus on Trustee leadership, organizational management and business relations.
Prior to his current post, Mr. Echt spent 20 years as an executive professional in the philanthropic and non-profit sector. Echt served as the Chief Financial Resource Development Officer of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit from 2005-2014.
Mr. Echt currently serves on the Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Dean Advisory Council and is Co-Chair of the Eugene and Marcia Applebaum Jewish Community Campus Consortium.
Mr. Echt graduated from the Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Leadership at the University of Michigan where he earned a Masters in Social Work and a certificate in Judaic Studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Michigan.
