With over 30 years of business and community leadership, Pamela Applebaum is focused on empowering the next generation of community leaders and helping to enrich the Detroit metropolitan community. Firmly believing that opportunity is the vital gateway to maximize potential, Pamela established the Applebaum Fellows Program. As the centerpiece of Applebaum Family Philanthropy, the Applebaum Fellows Program provides mentorship and opportunities for young people to inspire entrepreneurship, independence, and leadership.
Pamela has personally been devoted to several community and philanthropic organizations, including serving as Chair of the Board of Governors at Cranbrook Schools, member of the Advisory Board of the Zell Lurie Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and was a Board Director with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
She is currently a Board Member with the Detroit Institute of Arts Friends of Modern Contemporary Arts Advisory Board
As Co-President of Applebaum Family Philanthropy, Pamela is a member of the Wayne State University Foundation Board of Trustees Council and Corewell Health Marcia and Eugene Applebaum Simulation Learning Institute Advisory Board.
Pamela is President and CEO of Applebaum Ventures, the holding company that oversees the Applebaum family’s financial ventures including real estate, private and philanthropic investments. Pamela joined Arbor Investments (now Applebaum Ventures) when it was formed in 1998 after her father, Eugene Applebaum, sold the drugstore chain he founded, Arbor Drugs, to CVS, Inc.
