Shelby Bruseloff

About Shelby

Shelby Bruseloff is the Director of Philanthropic Programs for Applebaum Family Philanthropy. In this role, she advances philanthropic strategies by managing grantmaking cycles, evaluating impact, and strengthening relationships with key philanthropic partners. She also oversees the Applebaum Internship Program, collaborating with many of Detroit’s arts and cultural institutions to provide meaningful internship experiences for college and university students.

Previously, Shelby was the Senior Planning Associate at the Jewish Federation of Detroit, where she managed multiple endowment funds and supported the local allocation process for the Annual Campaign. Prior to that, she worked at the Hillel Campus Alliance of Michigan, advancing from an entry-level position to the Assistant Director. As Assistant Director, she oversaw programming, student engagement, and leadership development across 10 college campuses.

Shelby also serves as a Teen Board Facilitator for The Jewish Fund, educating a cohort of teens on strategic philanthropy while guiding them through a grantmaking process.

Shelby graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and Intercultural Training Certificate.
